Jenna is a ‘Supervisee in Social Work’ working towards her LCSW License. She earned a BA in Psychology and Linguistics from the University of Virginia, a MA in Forensic Psychology from Marymount University, and a Master’s of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Jenna has experience working with dually diagnosed adults, providing substance abuse counseling and psychoeducation, and a background that includes working with adults, youths, and families utilizing trauma-informed care approaches and cognitive behavioral therapy for PTSD, anxiety, and depressive disorders.

Aliya McCants

Aliya is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the process of obtaining her LCSW. She has a BA in Social Work from Bowie State University and a Master’s of Social Work from Clark Atlanta University. Aliya has served in a residential substance use disorder program and has provided psychoeducation and counseling services for individuals, groups, and families. She often practices cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and insight-based therapy. She is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

Antanisha "Nisha" Gilliam

Nisha is a Resident in Counseling. She graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and obtained her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology- DC Campus. She is also a Clinical Psychology doctoral student. Nisha's background includes trauma-informed care, intensive in-home family counseling, school counseling, outpatient therapy for adults with anxiety and depression, and behavioral therapy for developmentally delayed children. She uses integrative evidence-based therapies for adults, children, and adolescents with varying challenges. Nisha strives to promote psychological, social, and emotional wellness in the lives of her clients.

Monika Shaw

Monika is a Licensed Professional Counselor and holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has experience as a Mental Health Skill Support Provider, a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist, and a Therapeutic Day Treatment Specialist. Monika helps those with interpersonal relationship troubles, anxiety, depression, trauma-related diagnoses, conduct disorders, and schizophrenia. She is only seeing clients via Telehealth at this time.

Heather Frost

Heather holds a BS in Psychology from Bridgewater College and a MA in Counseling from Eastern Mennonite University. She is currently a Resident in Counseling. Heather previously worked in California at a residential group ranch for boys who experienced extreme types of abuse. She has worked with adults and children with trauma, anxiety, and depression. She has also worked in a volunteer capacity with nursing home residents, the homeless, and church groups.

Anna Cahill

Anna is a Resident in Counseling working towards her LPC license. She is also training to become a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider (CSOTP). Anna holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Writing Studies and a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Mennonite University. Anna previously worked at Bridgewater College's Counseling Center and Sentara RMH's Psychiatric Emergency Team. Anna enjoys working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma-related concerns.

 

Julie Crouse

Julie is a Resident in Counseling working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider (CSOTP). She graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Julie has experience working with adult and adolescent residential clients, rehabilitation and substance use populations, and within the school setting.

Giuseppina Calle

Giuseippina is a Supervisee in Social Work working towards her LCSW. She received her Master's degree at Millersville University in PA. She has a passion for helping children, adolescents, and young adults. Her specialties are working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, RAD, bipolar, emerging personality traits, behavioral concerns, and trauma history. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her Golden Retrievers- Thor and Loki.

Connor Price

Connor is a licensed professional counselor. He has a BS in Counseling and Human Services and a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He worked in the inpatient Adult Psychiatric Unit before transitioning into community-based mental health services. Connor has experience working with both adolescents and adults with autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, as well as trauma-based diagnoses. He is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and working on his certification in substance abuse counseling.

Suzanna Moye

Suzanna earned a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and is a Licensed Mental Health Professional. She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Suzanna has experience working in intensive in-home, mental health skills building, and outpatient therapy. She currently practices EMDR and works with those suffering from anxiety, depression, PTSD, and bipolar. She is currently working on her certification in substance abuse counseling.

Rebekah Meadows

Rebekah holds a BS in Psychology, a MEd in Counseling, and is an LPC in the state of Virginia. She has spent approximately nineteen years working in the mental health field in Lynchburg and its surrounding counties. Rebekah particularly enjoys program development, as well as working with teenagers, substance abuse, and serious mental illness.

She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Longwood University and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Lynchburg. Jessica uses an integrative approach in her work with clients, and has served those addressing areas of need such as depression, anxiety, self-injury, family relational problems, and trauma history.

Amanda Schaap

Kindal is a Resident in Counseling who holds a Master of Art in Counseling. She is currently working toward obtaining an Educational Doctorate in Traumatology and Community Counseling through Liberty University. Kindal previously served as a counselor in a halfway home for women struggling with addiction and has experience with case management and intensive in-home services. She has enjoyed working in the mental health field at any stage but has a heart for helping families heal from their traumas. Stephanie has experience working in intensive in-home, at a college student counseling center, and in outpatient therapy. She has experience working with a variety of ages. Stephanie is passionate about providing a person-centered approach and providing individuals with a safe space to grow their self-awareness and skills. She utilizes a variety of evidence-based theories, to help individuals with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, interpersonal concerns, and adjustment disorders.

Bosede is a Resident in Counseling. She holds M.A. in Human Services, Marriage and Family Counseling, and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. She is currently working toward obtaining a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. Bosede has provided services in community settings, including parenting coaching, intensive in-home, family reunification with children in foster care, and outpatient counseling. She enjoys working with children and their families who have experienced depression, trauma, and anxiety. Bosede incorporates multicultural and creative arts with an eclectic approach to counseling to address each client's needs. Gabriel "Gabe" Rupe

He has experience working with a diverse range of individuals in inpatient, outpatient, and government agency settings. Kristen Sharrett

Kristen earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree in professional counseling from Liberty University. She is a licensed professional counselor, practicing in Virginia since 2010. Kristen works with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma and has training in cognitive therapy as well as EMDR. She is also the Program Director for Impact First Responders, a resiliency and peer support program for our community's first responders. She is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

She has previous experience within the criminal justice system working as an advocate for victim's rights. By utilizing evidenced-based therapy and a strengths-based approach, she is driven to provide counseling services for individuals and families impacted by depression, anxiety, trauma, and interpersonal concerns.

Julie Palmer

Julie has a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University and is working towards becoming a licensed professional counselor and a registered play therapist. She has experience working with clients as young as three through adulthood and specializes in modalities including play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. She works from a systemic, collaborative, strength-based approach while considering attachment & neurobiology as well.

 

Avi Buehler

Avi is Licensed Professional Counselor who graduated with a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynchburg College in 2017 . She has experience with adults, children and teens with various diagnoses including depression, anxiety, conduct/impulse, and trauma-based disorders. Avi gained experience in a variety of settings including intensive in-home, foster homes, schools, residential, and on an acute hospital unit. She also worked with children with Autism and their caregivers to support them in handling behavioral and emotional challenges. Through her experience in outpatient, in-home, and parent coaching services, she appreciates the opportunity to work alongside families.

Katie has worked with clients of all ages and is a trained SYMBIS (saving your marriage before it starts) facilitator. She has experience working with children, adults, and couples navigating relational issues, grief, anxiety, ADHD, and PTSD. Stephanie Robinson

Stephanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who earned a Bachelor's of Social Work from Eastern Mennonite University and a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Southern California. Stephanie enjoys working with adolescents and adults who have experienced complex trauma, including those in traditional foster care placements and independent living placements. She has foundational training in EMDR and TF-CBT to support this trauma work. Stephanie works with children and adolescents who have sexual trauma as well as those who have sexual behavior problems including those who are involved in the juvenile justice system for related issues. She also appreciates working with adults who are in transitional life phases and are looking to break intergenerational cycles.

Rachel is a masters level intern working toward her Masters in Social Work  at New Mexico State University. She holds a BA in Social Work from Liberty University, and has experience working with refugees, youth in foster care, group therapy, and acute inpatient psychiatry. Practicing primarily psychotherapy, Rachel is passionate about assisting people as they heal from trauma and mental illness utilizing evidence-based person-centered approaches. She is currently seeing clients for $35 self pay.

Tara Waller

Tara holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work from Concord University. She is a Supervisee in Social Work and is a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider (CSOTP) in training. Tara has previously worked with Child Protective Services, Youth Services, and as the Pediatric Social Worker at a Level One trauma hospital. She currently works with at-risk youth, youth who have experienced all forms of trauma, and those involved in the child welfare system.

Felicia CSOTP Trainee and LMHP-S, holds a Masters of Social Work from University of Southern California with an enthist in mental health. Completed her Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from Ferrum College. She is a supervisee in Social Work and is a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider (CSOTP Trainee). Felicia has had previous experience working with the NGRI (Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity) population at Southwest Virginia Mental Health Institute, Clinical Social Work on Trauma Hospital Unit at a Level 1 Trauma Hospital, as well as experience with providing services to RAFT Hotline Services as a volunteer.

Kaitlin has been working in the counseling field for over eight years. She has experience in various settings, including inpatient psychiatry, intensive in-home, school-based, crisis stabilization, and outpatient therapy. Kaitlin is particularly passionate about working with those struggling with grief, trauma, and recovering from narcissistic abuse. Kaitlin utilizes ACT and evidence-based therapeutic techniques to assist clients in their healing journey. Kaitlin enjoys concerts, spending time with friends and family in her spare time, and cheering on Philadelphia sports teams.

Courtney is a ‘Resident in Counseling’ working towards her LPC Licensure. She earned a BA in Social Sciences from the Chowan University, and a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South University. Courtney has experience working with dually diagnosed adults, providing substance abuse counseling and psychoeducation, and a background that includes working with adults, youths, and families utilizing trauma-informed care approaches. Courtney has also worked with immigrant families to provide family reunification counseling services along with re-entry counseling servicing the incarcerated population of the Virginia Department of Corrections. Courtney is also a certified substance abuse therapist and has experience with teens and adults.

ILS is comprised of a talented team of committed and empathetic staff.  ILS employees have extensive experience in operating residential facilities, case management, in-home counseling, directing independent living arrangements and licensed child-placing agencies, and serving as foster and adoptive families. ILS aids youth and families in reaching their potential socially, academically, and vocationally through creating relationships, creating community, and creating permanency.
